The intellectual history of content no doubt warrants a
more traditional tour of the literature: from Hegel, at least, if not the Pre-Socratics.
I focus here on less scholarly domains: markets, courtrooms, popular entertainments;
because these are, at the moment, the seedbeds of cultural change.
Caveat auditor: from high seriousness to dude! serious.
But it seems important these days to begin outside the world of books.
