"This document was originally conceived and written as a hypertextual network using the 1.1 release of Storyspace. I have taken the idea of a printed pseudo-hypertext from Hopscotch, a novel by Julio Cortazar."

I wrote the above note as part of the original draft in 1992, evidently intending it even then for delivery in print. I was surprised to find this when I did my revisions for the WorldWideWeb (November, 1994).
