Intervene if you can, O Activist Reader. Seriously, I mean it.
I assume you're coming to this text through some shoot or tendril of the WorldWideWeb. The Web is my pleasure dome, I shall not want. Well, not for much. Well, not for too much.
Does "HTML" really, secretly, stand for "Hypertext More Or Less?"
Unfair, unfair. Whatever else it might be, the Web is indeed (at least potentially) a read-write medium, since (for the moment at least) most of its readers can also post responses, rejoinders, commentary, and addenda on servers to which they have access. You could include in such a text a pointer aimed at this essay, inviting your readers to have a look at what I've said and then return to see how completely you've debunked my errors.
Assuming your reader does return, that is. Assuming your reader finds your text in the first place (an assumption I'm making myself...)
Or you could, O Critical Reader, send e-mail to samoulthrop@ubmail.ubalt.edu. Include the Universal Resource Locator (URL) for your comments about this essay. I promise to include a link to your document at any point you specify in the present text.
