Contributed Notes for Chapter VIII
Greg Bole VIII.12.6 Red wax leaves a familiar stain on the Jack-O-Lantern.
Greg Bole VIII.25.7 The three costumes Devil (Hell) Ghost (the title of the chapter) and Pirate (Tales of the Black Freighter).
Joshua Merrill VIII.2.7 The skull-and-crossbones motif on the balloon and the hat. VIII.4.4 I don't think this means anything, but with Dan's hair sticking up like it is, it looks like little horns. More owlish than devilish -- unless this is a remarkably prescient Dilbert reference. -- sam VIII.12.6 The jack-o-lantern has the red smear just like the smiley face. VIII.15.4 The blood on Rorschach from the dead prisoner is exactly like the blood that he got on himself from killing the two dogs. And, just like that kidnapping case, the air in the prison is again heavy with the smoke of human fat, this time from the electrified goon. Something to think about, no?
JM VIII.23.3 Shadow from the statue forms a mask. |
