A series of switchable blockades and
flashing arrows guided us to a small parking area and a door that said Public Restroom. Jack went in, did
his business and returned to the car. We were then guided back out to another computer terminal before
another gate through which we could see traffic passing the end of another alley and even a tree just to one side.
Where have you been? asked the screen. The choices here were much more extensive than those for Where I was
going had been. This seemed strange to me, as if the possibilities were diminishing as we progressed -- we had only
been one place (at a time) but could go from here how many places? - strange especially since we were now leaving the
same space about which the previous question had been asked. I found the restroom on a sub-menu, and
the gate scrolled up out of sight. We drove out and dodged the tree, which turned out to be strapped on the back of a
flatbed truck. We went back to the highway. Does that answer your question?
