On Sacramental Architecture, I: The Intersection

"In short, the intersection between the transcendent world and this one has always created or required an architecture that ultimately restructures society itself. Or better, perhaps we should say this: humans inevitably feel that a certain architecture is needed to summon the transcendent into this world. The reverse is also true: when the correct architecture is constructed, (we feel) the transcendent will be compelled to inhabit it willy-nilly: "Build it and they will come."
