Footer Test

The footer at the bottom of this page was generated by document.write() statements contained in a function on an external JavaScript page (x-footer.js). This example does not contain all the elements specified in the ground rules, but it does give a useful example.

As Ray Nosko suggested, the graphics are invoked using absolute file references, which means that the footer can be applied to pages anywhere in the server hierarchy.

The footer is constructed within a table whose width is set to 100%. It will therefore fit across the bottom of virtually any page.

View source on this page to see the scripts. Note that we need both an empty script container in the head of the document and a second container with the actual function call at the foot of the page. (I forgot the second container in my discussion in class.)

Copies of this test page and its related script file can both be found in the footerTest directory within productionShare on Crow.
