Web Site Assignment 2
Due April 14; this is later than originally listed on the syllabus. For this second Web site assignment, you have two options, but the following general requirements apply to both:
- All your pages must pass validation at validator.w3.org
- All pages should use an XHTML DOCTYPE declaration, which you should copy and paste from this page.
- (a) Revise your existing site
- Make at least five substantial additions or changes to the first version of your Web site. These might include changing the page architecture in some significant way, revising the navigation system, and experimenting further with CSS.
- You may add new pages to your site, but unless you add lots of them, these additions do not constitute a significant revision. Add pages only if that allows you to demonstrate something new and important, such as a new nav approach.
- Correcting mistakes in the first site is important, but not in itself a basis for grade above B.
- Detail all your improvements on your About page (the page that contains your technical discussion).
- (b) Produce a new site
- If you go this way, your second site should satisfy all the requirements of the first site assignment, including the technical report page.
- Further, I will expect your second site to break new ground, both technically and in terms of design.
Specifications
- Within your personal directory on student-iat, create a new folder called site_two.
- Upload all elements of this project into the site_two folder. If you are taking the first option above, DO NOT EDIT OR REPLACE YORU ORIGINAL SITE. Leave the contents of your site_one folder unchanged.
- The entry or arrival page for your site must be named index.htm, or index.html.
