Assignment 3, Revised Weblogs, assumes you will continue adding content to your Weblog at a regular pace. In addition, you are urged to begin experimenting with Web design features acquired during the intervening weeks. Here are two lists, the first of elements you must include, the second with optional features.
When you submit your Weblog, send e-mail indicating where the required features are included, and mentioning which optional features you have tried, if any.
I. Required
- Structure every page using a table; set a reasonable limit for your right margin;
- Create a signature graphic or logo for your Blog; include this graphic on each page of your site;
- Introduce at least one graphic that has a caption block below it; use an embedded table to contain this graphic and its caption;
- Use more than one type font, face, or size; control font changes using in-line stylesheets (the STYLE attribute of the appropriate text container).
II. Optional
- Build a sequential introduction for your blog using automatic page refresh and the META tag;
- Experiment with margin offsets, leading text color and size, and other CSS effects;
- Try an imagemapped graphic, for instance as your navigation strip;
- Develop an external stylesheet for use on all your Blog pages;
- Vary the appearance and behavior of link cues using CSS controls;
- Experiment with CSS Z-index layering.
