Seventh (and Final) Assignment
Task: Create or redesign a home page (or a main page for some personal project) using either Netscape layers or Microsoft object effects to deliver highly interactive content.

Specifications:

  • Major elements of the page (headlines, graphics, callouts, etc.) should change in response to user action.

  • These changes should go beyond the simple replacement effects achievable with JavaScript "rollovers."

  • Your markup should make appropriate tests for browser type and/or platform (see notes from Week 4) and warn off those improperly equipped.

  • You need only present a single page (your index or entry page), but there should be links to other areas of content. These links should be implemented (i.e., written into the markup) but need not be functional.

  • Feel free to use style sheet effects.

Submision: Your main page must be named yourLastName7.htm (or .html). Submit on a floppy disk (Mac or Windows). Your solution could involve multiple files (if for instance you decide to re-assign the source of a layer in Netscape). Include all files needed to evaluate the page. Subsidiary pages (destinations of links leading off your page) need not be included.

Deadline: All work is due at the beginning of our final class, May 12. Since you have three weeks to complete this assignment, there will be no extensions.
