Sign up for a hotmail account; download the hotmail IM software and install it on your pc; make sure you add all your classmates' IM identities to your "buddy list" or whatever hotmail calls it. We will get together for trouble-shooting and "handshaking" a few minutes before 9 PM and once we've wrung out the kinks, will talk about the first half of The Social Life of Information. I will be having two days of meetings with Dr. Brown and would be happy to ask him to discuss his current views of this book with us. So use the chat time to try to think about what sorts of things you'd ask the authors.
