Unit Project 1
Due Date
Saturday, September 28 by start of class.
Task
Produce an original 24-panel comic or the storyboard for a cinematic sequence or scene with a similar number of (key)frames.
Visuals and Layout
A panel or frame consists of a recognizable division of the page, with or without visible borders.
You must use at least six pages; you may not use fewer than four pages.
You may slightly exceed 24 panels/frames if necessary but you may not go below 24.
Panels may vary in size, shape, and orientation.
Hand drawing and stick figures are perfectly acceptable.
Even though I don't expect anyone in the class to have prior training as an artist, I do want you to take care with arrangement and sequence of your visual elements; layout counts.
Content
Your comic or storyboard should tell a story or recount an episode in an implied, larger story.
This story must be original. You may not storyboard an existing film or reproduce a comic.
You may include narration (voice-over script) and dialogue, or you may choose to work with images alone.
Technical SpecificationsYou may submit your work either on paper or in some generally accessible electronic format, e.g., PDF or Web page:
- Paper
- Mount your work on black Bristol board or heavy construction paper.
- Electronic
- You have accounts on the Crow file server. Within your personal directory
create a folder called project1 and place your work there.
- Name your main or first file index.htm.
Failing to comply with any of these instructions, including the technical specifications, will affect your grade for this project.
