Connecting to your web space...

Every student in this course will have a directory on the student-iat server. If you have not already done so for another course, you must create a home page for yourself. Due to the settings on the web server, your index file MUST be named "index.htm" or "index.html" to work properly. This page, or a subpage for our Information Architecture course must link each assignment in this course. If you do not create a page on the student server, post your work, or fail to provide clearly labeled and functional links to your work, your work will not be accepted or graded.

If you have difficulty posting to your space on the student-iat web server, please let me know immediately. Waiting until your assignments are due may place you at a disadvantage and prevent you from submitting your assignments on time.

The server: student-iat.ubalt.edu

Your user name: last name (all are lower case)

For example: tucker or kaplan

Your initial password: I'll email you this handy tidbit...

Your directory is inside a directory called "students". You will not be able to see that directory when you connect. If you use a browser as your ftp client, your screen will look something like this once you have logged in but before you have uploaded any documents:
a view of your ftp directory before you have uploaded any documents

Please note that the URL for viewing your home page through a Web browser will be http://student-iat.ubalt.edu/students/tucker (as an example).
