UBOnline Basics

UBOnline Site

To login, use the following URL:

http://ubonline.eduprise.com

Note: UBOnline does not support Netscape 6.0. However, it is compatible with Internet Explorer 6.0, so ignore any warnings on that subject.

Username

Your username is your first name followed by your last name. There is NO space between names. Use the name under which you registered; we pull the official class roster from the Registrar's database. See your UB bill or schedule for the correct name.

Examples:

Roster Name

Username

Comment

Jones, Robert A.

RobertJones

Usernames are NOT case-sensitive.

Smith‑Jones, John

JohnSmith‑Jones

Hyphens ARE part of the username.

O'Malley, Brian

BrianOMalley

Apostrophes are NOT part of the username.

Note: Your UBOnline username is not the same as your UBMail or NT username. They are three separate systems.

Password

Student passwords are the last four digits of the student ID number (for most students, the student ID number is identical to the social security number).

Email Address

If we didnŐt have your email address at registration, we assigned phony email addresses.

Example: bogus12345@nomail.edu

You must add your correct email address to the system.  You can do this by clicking the Account link in the upper right corner of the Portal (the first screen you see after login).

Getting Help

There are many ways to get help with UBOnline:

If you don't remember UB's conventions for usernames and passwords, use the More Information About Logging In link on the login screen.

If you forgot your password, use the Forgotten Password link on the login screen.
Note: The system will email your password to the email address for your username. If you didn't update your email address, you will not be able to retrieve your password.

If you have a question about using UBOnline, use the Frequently Asked Questions link on the login screen or the More Info link in your navigation toolbar.

Error Messages

If you encounter an error message, exit the system and wait a few minutes before logging in again.  This simple task will often correct the problem and get you back to work more quickly than any other action.
