APPLIED SIMULATION -Ventrilo Information- Homework Assignment - Cell Phone Challenge This is your last assignment, due in one week. You shouldn't find it too difficult. First, give some consideration to your cell phone. If you don't have one...choose a model and give it some research. The carrier network isn't important. But study what buttons are on the phone. What side buttons? What control buttons exist other than the keypad? How big is the screen? Second, give some consideration to The Sims...any version will do. Collect some screenshots. Get familiar with how it is played, how the gameplay mechanics are presented to the player. How the player plays the game. How the game outputs data to the player. How the player inputs data into the game. You don't have to buy a copy of the game, nor do you have to become an expert. But become familiar with it. Now: Design a version of The Sims to work on that cell phone. How would you do it? How would you repurpose the buttons, screen, controls, and so forth of the phone to allow someone to play The Sims on that platform? How would you alter the Sims controls to make use the limited input options you have from the phone? Write it up. Explain to your boss, in words, how you'll make a game of "that size" fit in such a small package. Get a graphic of your phone and Photoshop it up with arrows to tell me which buttons will perform what functions. Fake a screenshot of the game running on the phone's screen.
