I.F. Proposal
Due October 3-10
Assignment
Using Inform, and working either individually or in groups of two or three, you will create a working interactive fiction, along with walk-through instructions that show the winning traversal of your game. Later, authors will exchange their I.F.s (though not their walk-throughs), play them, and write a critical evaluation.
In this step, which will be graded along with your finished I.F. and walk-through, you'll identify your team and describe the game you plan to create.
Deliverable
Decide whether you're working individually or with partners. If you're in a group, nominate a group reporter.
Individuals and group reporters should upload to their personal directories on student-iat a Word document named IF_Proposal.doc. The document should contain the following:
- The membership of the group (or name of the individual author);
- A 1-2 sentence capsule summary of the I.F.;
- A few sentences describing the setting or surroundings where action takes place;
- A few sentences indicating what challenges or puzzles the player might have to resolve;
- Anything particularly clever you plan to try;
- Any programming or design challenges you anticipate.
On October 3 at the end of class I will record who is working individually and who in groups. Groups will need to name reporters at this point.
