Class Cancelled October 23

Because of a death in my family, I must cancel class on Monday, October 23.

Please complete your work on the present homework assignment. I will begin grading some time after our class on Wednesday, October 25.

Please keep up with the assigned readings, including Michael Joyce's essay in Gibson and Oviedo. The quiz on October 25 will include at least one question about that essay. I will also expect you to have read all of Part 4 of the course notes.

The next homework assignment (#5) has been posted to the class Web site under Week 8. Begin working on this assignment. Since it's a relatively small task, it will be due on Monday, October 30.

I will be out of town and away from e-mail from Saturday, October 21 until Tuesday, October 24. I will hold extended office hours on Wednesday evening, October 25, to help anyone having trouble with the homework.
