Software for This Class
We'll be using two FREE Microsoft applications in this class: Visual C# 2008 Express, and XNA Game Studio 3.0. This software is installed on the USG lab computers. If you want the same support on your personal computer, download and install the software listed below. If you are using a Windows PC running XP or Vista, you should have no difficulties.
PLEASE OBSERVE THE VERSION NUMBERS CAREFULLY! There are less current versions of both programs: Visual C# 2005, and XNA Game Studio 2.0 and 1.0. THESE VERSIONS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE TEXTBOOK OR THE CODE WE LEARN IN CLASS.
After you install Visual C# 2008 Express, you will need to install XNA Game Studio 3.0.

Instead of installing C# 2008 Express, another option is to install the full version of Visual Studio 2008 from the MSDNAA. We will discuss this option on the first day of class.
