FTP Accounts

Every student in the Simulation and Digital Entertainment major is entitled to use our File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, student-iat.ubalt.edu. If you are a continuing student, your account remains active from previous semesters. If you are a beginning student, your account should be ready for use.

For most students, your login is your last name, with no spaces or capital letters. If you have a last name that may belong to more than one person at U.B. (e.g., Lee, Smith, Jones, White, or strangely enough, Moulthrop), your login is your last name followed by an underscore character and your first initial: e.g., "lee_z".

Your password is your seven-digit U.B. student number. This number appears on your ID card, and also in your profile information on myUB. Continuing students: if your password has been set to some other value, it should be as you left it.

If you have problems accessing your FTP account, please let me know immediatly.

You may be required to submit work for this and other SDE classes using the student server. The server can also be used to share files and other data for group work, and to publish Web pages relevant to your course work and professional development.

Some important rules of sensible conduct apply:

Happy computing.
