Yoram Chisik

My current research is centered on the development of technology with children and young adults. However, prior to joining academia I worked in industry for a number of years as a consultant, working with a range of government and commercial clients from the military, transportation, municipal, engineering and publishing sectors.

I understand how to engage with clients and users, be they young or young at heart, how to evaluate technology, be it bleeding edge or obsolete, and how to deliver business value in a time and resource constrained environment. I examine technology in the total context of its use. I combine an extensive knowledge of information technology with a keen eye for the environment and ethnography of use and a receptive ear to the needs and desires of the user to generate a complete view of the technological, organizational and personal issues at stake.

Consulting areas:

I consult in areas of interaction design, user-centered design, ethnographic/user/workplace studies, usability testing, evaluation of new or existing technologies, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Rich Internet Applications (RIA).

I am also able to deliver seminars and training courses in any of the above areas or engage in a specific application development project.

Please contact me to discuss specific areas of interest.
