Background
The locus of Professor Sykes research and life's work is Community Informatics: investigating,
contributing to, and implementing policies, practices and programs effecting the social appropriation
of Information and Communication Technology and affecting its effective use. He currently teaches
courses in the Applied Information Technology (AIT) program.
