Graduate Certificates in the School of Information Arts and Technologies
At present we offer two certificates:
- Certificate in New Media Publishing
- Certificate in Information Design
These 12-credit certificates are project-oriented. They have been designed for career-oriented people who want to see how they can put what they learn in the classroom to work in the marketplace. They are also intended to help experienced professionals master changing techniques, technologies, and creative strategies. Finally, because our certificate courses address backgrounds and contexts as well as skill sets, they lay foundations for further graduate study, particularly the Doctor of Science in Information and Interaction Design.
Who might be interested?
The Certificate in New Media Publishing is for graphic designers, writers, editors, publication managers, and other communication professionals who want to do advanced design and creative work in emerging media.
The Certificate in Information Design is directed to many of the same people as the Certificate in New Media Publishing, but with greater emphasis on system development and usability analysis than on media design and production. It's for professionals who wish to become information architects, project managers, interaction designers, or usability specialists. This certificate can be completed online.
